Spring Minis

Planning my very first Easter Mini Sessions felt a little like planning a tiny wedding… with bunnies. I had big dreams—rabbits and chicks hopping around in soft spring light, kids giggling, pastel everything. But here’s the truth: the chicks ended up being too big (like, awkward-teenage-bird big), so we gently let that dream go… for this year. Ducks are already on my radar for next spring, though—just wait!

I had one sweet family who was interested early on, so I asked them to come model and gifted them a few extra photos. They were amazing, and it helped me test everything out before officially launching the minis. I also jumped on the latest trend of hiring an event designer to style the setup—because, yes, that’s a thing now! And while it was definitely overpriced (my bank account cried a little), I still did it anyway. She was super sweet and the setup looked great, but it made me realize I need to find ways to stay creative without adding too much overhead moving forward.

Honestly? The setup was cute and fun, but it didn’t totally feel like me. I also should’ve started promoting it earlier (future me, please take notes). That said—I printed out postcards, passed them out all over town, and even bought a huge soft box to give the studio that dreamy glow. Every step has been a learning curve, but I’m taking it one day at a time.

The biggest lesson? When I let go of the pressure to make everything perfect, I actually start to enjoy it—and that’s when the best ideas come through.
